This is the icon to see when visiting Oregon. The Eternal Indian Statue, known as Black Hawk, stands at 48-foot tall overlooking the Rock River. Originally named The Eternal Indian, it is now known as the “Black Hawk” Statue after the chief of the Sauk Indian tribe that once inhabited the area. Lorado Taft created the statue as a tribute to Native Americans. You can access the statue by going to Lowden State Park.
