A tour of Rock Falls designed to target the Millennials and Gen Z visitors.
Home to coffee houses, outdoor adventure, and authentic cuisine, Rock Falls is the destination spot of any young person’s dreams.
Start the day off with a rich cup of joe from Flip Side Coffee & Espresso. Not just coffee, but baked goods as well, get your fill at Flip Side. Rock Falls also has some great breakfast restaurants such as Gazi’s, or Family Table for a wholesome breakfast to get you ready for your day on the town. Homemade donuts and cookies are also a great choice at Folsom’s Bakery.
Take a walk around our uptown business and experience the quaint shops of Rock Falls. Mud & Moo Boutique, Chakra Tree, and some resale shops as well.
For our outdoor adventurists, Rock Falls is the start of the magnificent Hennepin Canal. Lining the water way is a paved walking and bike path, and in the trees, you will find a hidden away Upper-Trail that make for a more challenged hike. How about renting bicycles for your ride down the Hennepin Canal path? We have bicycles available for rent at the RB&W District. Use the waterway for excellent fishing and kayaking. The Hennepin Canal draws in many water-goers because of the clear water and soft current, making for an easy paddle. You can even rent kayaks (RENT.FUN) at the Route 40 boat launch on the Hennepin Canal. The Geocaching, disk golfing, accessible from the canal’s walkway make for a great outdoor adventure down the waterway.
Take in some art at the RB&W District. The park sits on the banks of the beautiful Rock River and showcases 10 sculptures of which are changed out once a year.
In the summer months, enjoy the Rock Falls Farmers Market for fresh locally grown products and goods.
For dining, make a stop at one of the many diverse restaurants around town. The Industrial, Touch of Thai, The Candlelight Inn, Arthur’s Garden Deli, Jane’s Place, Maks American & Indian Bar & Grill, and so much more ensures for a taste of something different every time you dine in Rock Falls.
Looking for a sweet treat? Check out Frosted Spoon! Open in the summer, the Frosted Spoon offers a serve your own frozen yogurt bar, café, and bubble tea! Rock Falls also offers Dairy Queen and Culver’s for some frosty treats!
After dinner, indulge in the nightlife. The pubs in Rock Falls offer live entertainment nearly every weekend. Rock Falls is part of the Sauk Valley Area which offer quality movie theaters at the Sterling Theater, AMC Classic Sauk Valley 8, and throw back Midway Drive Inn on Rt.2!
