Ride Illinois – bike ride along the Hennepin Canal
For the September meet up HCSPF is joining other Illinois riders in participating in Let’s Ride Illinois the week of Sept 9-18th. Let’s Ride Illinois is encouraging everyone to get out for neighborly rides to experience their community by bike
Meet us September 18th from 1-3 starting at the parking lot along the canal at the corner of E 2nd St & Emmons Ave (no restroom) in Rock Falls. Known by many as the start of the Hennepin Canal where it meets the Rock River. We will be biking SW along the canal to route 40 boat launch (porta potty location) and back. Which is about 5 Miles roundtrip. For those wanting to go a bit longer continuing to Buell Road would add another 2 miles round trip. A slight detour for those with kiddos, on the return trip, would be Centennial Park which has vintage playground equipment and is steps off the canal.
